Before leaving home all applicants are required to complete a weekend workshop in London. These workshops include travel advice; help with lesson design, information on cultural differences, disease, security, first aid, language and basic child psychology.

They will give volunteers an opportunity to discuss any issues they may have with people who have fist hand knowledge of either South Africa, first aid or children's welfare.

The workshops are free of charge, but it is essential that you attend one of these courses before you leave for South Africa.
